ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) — Kaseem Watson had 23 points and made a layup at the buzzer to rally Delaware State to a 76-75 victory over South Carolina State on Saturday.
Watson shot 9 of 12 from the field and 5 of 5 from the free-throw line for the Hornets (8-9, 1-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Robert Smith scored 21 points while going 7 of 10 (5 for 7 from 3-point range). Ponce James went 6 of 7 from the field (3 for 3 from 3-point range) to finish with 16 points.
The Bulldogs (8-10, 2-1) were led by Omar Croskey with 18 points. Mitchel Taylor scored 16 and Davion Everett had 11 points
