WEST DALHOUSIE, N.S. – A 72-year-old man is dead and two men have been arrested after two side-by-side utility vehicles crashed in Annapolis County, N.S.
Police say around 4:40 p.m. Saturday, RCMP officers, EHS and fire services were called to an off-highway vehicle collision in West Dalhousie.
Upon arrival, officers saw two side-by-side vehicles in the ditch, a man lying on the ground and several people gathered.
The RCMP says its officers determined the two side-by-sides crashed and a 72-year-old passenger was ejected from the vehicle, which then rolled over onto him.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of one of the side-by-sides, a 53-year-old man from Carleton Corner, N.S., suffered minor injuries and was transported to hospital where he was arrested for impaired operation causing death.
Police say a 49-year-old man who was driver the second side-by-side was also arrested at a nearby home a short time after the incident for impaired operation causing death .
