BRAMPTON, Ont. – Police say a man has been taken into custody after a woman was fatally stabbed in Brampton, Ont.
Peel regional police say officers were called to an apartment building in the area of Kennedy Road South and Glidden Road just after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning.
They say officers arrived at the scene and found a woman in her 40s who had been stabbed.

Police say the woman was taken to hospital by paramedics and was pronounced dead shortly afterward.
Investigators say a suspect was found a short distance from the building, and he and the victim knew each other.
