HALIFAX – Halifax police have identified a 37-year-old man who was shot dead in Dartmouth Monday night.
In a news release, the police say the victim was 37-year-old Cortrell Thomas.
Officers responded to reports of gunshots on Ancona Place at around 9 p.m. Monday and found a man who had been shot outside a residence.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Nova Scotia medical examiner conducted an autopsy and confirmed his death was a homicide, and police say they do not believe the shooting was random.
Investigators are searching for two suspects who were seen leaving the scene of the shooting through a nearby park and are asking that anyone with video footage from the area to contact them.
