Police say the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old boy in Toronto last month was unprovoked.
Toronto police say the teenager was with a couple of friends who met up with another group at an intersection near Emmett Avenue and Jane Street in the city’s west end just after 10 p.m. on June 7.
They say one person from the group approached and began talking to the victim before pulling out a gun and shooting him.
Toronto police Det. Sgt. Phillip Campbell says he doesn’t know the motive and no arrests have been made.
He says police are reviewing video that shows a group of people fleeing the area after the shooting.
Campbell is asking anyone with information to contact police.
