WHITEHORSE – One person has died after a City of Whitehorse transit bus and a semi-truck crashed.
RCMP say the collision happened Tuesday on the Alaska Highway near the Crestview subdivision north of downtown Whitehorse.
Police say an occupant of the semi-truck was killed in the collision.

They say they haven’t received any reports of injuries from occupants of the transit bus.
The highway was closed for several hours with no detours available before eventually reopening to one lane of alternating traffic.
The City of Whitehorse temporarily paused transit service in Crestview while the highway was closed.
This report by The Canadian Press was first published Sept. 9, 2025.
