Proline players didn’t have to rely on a late comeback by the Buffalo Bills on Sunday to register another NFL win.

After rallying for a 41-40 opening-season win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sept. 7, Buffalo cruised to a 30-10 victory over the New York Jets on Sunday. According to the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp., a whopping 95 per cent of bettors picked the Bills to take the game while 82 per cent had them to cover the spread.

In other NFL action, the Detroit Lions earned their first victory of the season in commanding fashion, dispatching the Chicago Bears 52-21. Ninety-two per cent of players had the Lions to win, 77 per cent had them covering and 71 per cent had the over.

The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 20-17 in a Super Bowl rematch. Sixty-two per cent of bettors had the Eagles to win while 70 per cent had them covering.

On Sunday night, the Atlanta Falcons downed the Minnesota Vikings 22-6. Just 20 per cent of players had Atlanta to win while 38 per cent had them +3.5 points.

On Monday night, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers nipped the Houston Texans 20-19. Only 46 per cent of bettors had the Bucs to win outright while 51 per cent had them +2.5 points.

Also on Monday night, the Los Angeles Chargers defeated the Las Vegas Raiders 20-9. A solid 84 per cent of players had the Chargers to win while 75 per cent had them covering.

Buffalo stands alone as the favourite to win Super Bowl LX at 23 per cent. Baltimore is second at 12 per cent with Philadelphia and Detroit next at 11 per cent.

On Monday night, Trey Yesavage had a club-record nine strikeouts over five innings in his major-league debut as the Toronto Blue Jays edged the Tampa Bay Rays 2-1. Seventy-nine per cent of players picked Toronto to win.

However, only 21 per cent had the Rays +1.5 runs while 10 per cent had the total under 8.5 runs.

Not surprisingly, the top five events were all NFL games. They were: Atlanta-Minnesota; Washington-Green Bay; L.A. Chargers-Las Vegas Raiders; Tampa Bay-Houston; and Buffalo-New York Jets.

There were also some big returns this week.

A $20 wager turned into a $9,109 payout (including a 35 per cent combiboost payment) for a digital player on a five-pick baseball selection. Another received $16,418 (including 35 per cent combiboost payment) from a $67 bet on a 10-pick NFL selection.

A retail customer turned a $2 wager into a $5,457 payout from an eight-pick European soccer selection while another earned $10,247 from a $15 bet on a 10-pick U.S. college football-baseball-NFL card.
