LAKE PLACID – Canadian figure skaters Kelly Ann Laurin and Loucas Éthier earned bronze in the pairs event at the Skate America event on Saturday.

The duo finished second in the free skating segment (121.58 points) to finish with a total score of 182.87.

Japan’s Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara won gold (215.99), while Anastasiia Metelkina and Luka Berulava of Georgia grabbed silver (195.73).

Miura and Kihara (141.57) placed first in Saturday’s free skating to secure top spot on the podium. Metelkina and Berulava were the leaders coming out of Friday’s short program but finished fourth in free skating.

Ice dancers Marjorie Lajoie and Zachary Lagha of Canada placed second in the rhythm dance segment on Saturday with a score of 77.42.

The second and final segment, the free dance, will take place Sunday.
