The union representing hospital workers striking in Alberta has instructed its members to return to work after a tentative agreement was reached.
The Alberta Union of Provincial Employees made the announcement just before 9 a.m. this morning.
The union gave strike notice to Alberta Health Services on Wednesday after bargaining fell apart over wages.
Picket lines had been anticipated at health centres and hospitals throughout Saturday and Sunday as part of the job action.
About 16,000 workers including licensed practical nurses and health-care aides are represented by the union.
The union says it will host a press conference at 11 a.m. with further details about the tentative agreement.
