VANCOUVER – An 81-year-old pedestrian has been killed in a hit-and-run in Vancouver.
Police they were called the scene at Rupert Street near Euclid Avenue at about 6:30 a.m. Monday.
They say the woman died of her injuries before emergency responders were able to take her to hospital.
The suspect vehicle didn’t stop after the crash and left southbound on Rupert Street.
The vehicle has been identified as a dark grey Volkswagen Golf with its model year in the late 1990s or early 2000s, and it likely suffered damage, such as a missing driver-side mirror and damaged front headlight or bumper, as a result of the crash.
Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash or have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the collision to reach out to investigators.
