SUDBURY – Police in Sudbury, Ont., say a man has been charged with murder after a woman was found dead Monday morning.
Greater Sudbury Police Service says officers responded to a welfare check request on Municipal Road 55 in Walden shortly before 7 a.m., after a loved one raised concern about the victim’s safety due to ongoing issues with a family member.
Investigators say officers found a 67-year-old woman dead inside the home, where the family member was also present in an “agitated state.”
An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death, but police are treating it as a homicide.
They say this was not a case of intimate partner violence.
The 34-year-old suspect is being held for a bail hearing, and police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
