FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — Brennan Peterson scored 23 points as Northern Arizona beat Benedictine at Mesa 112-60 on Monday.
Peterson went 8 of 8 from the field (7 for 7 from 3-point range) for the Lumberjacks (6-7). Zack Davidson scored 20 points, going 8 of 10 and 4 of 7 from the free-throw line. Arne Osojnik shot 6 for 9 from beyond the arc to finish with 18 points.
Eric Blackwell III finished with 21 points and two steals for the NAIA Redhawks, who lost their first game of the season (15-1) to their Division I opponents. Benedictine at Mesa also got 12 points, four assists and five steals from Isaiah Howard. Khari Dunn finished with seven points.
NAU used a 21-0 run to take a 53-27 lead into the half. Peterson scored 17 in the second half, while Davidson and Osojnik each scored 12. They used runs of 12-0 and 10-0 to ease to the 52-point win.
