NEWARK, Del. (AP) — Jemel Jones’ 19 points helped New Mexico State defeat Delaware 97-68 on Saturday.
Jones added five assists for the Aggies (10-7, 3-4 Conference USA). Jayland Randall scored 15 points while going 4 of 8 from the floor, including 2 for 3 from 3-point range, and 5 for 5 from the line. Elijah Elliott shot 5 for 9, including 3 for 6 from beyond the arc to finish with 14 points.
Tyler Houser led the Fightin’ Blue Hens (5-13, 1-6) in scoring, finishing with 25 points. Christian Bliss added 19 points and five assists for Delaware. Justyn Fernandez had 14 points.
New Mexico State took the lead for good with 19:13 left in the first half. The score was 49-30 at halftime, with Jones racking up 10 points. New Mexico State outscored Delaware in the second half by 10 points, with Anthony Wrzeszcz scoring a team-high 11 points after halftime.
