DOVER, Del. (AP) — Kareem Watson’s 14 points helped Delaware State defeat Maryland-Eastern Shore 65-57 on Saturday.
Watson also added three steals for the Hornets (6-15, 1-5 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Corey Perkins added 12 points while going 3 of 5 and 4 of 6 from the free-throw line and tallying five assists. Dean Shepherd shot 3 for 8 (0 for 3 from 3-point range) and 5 of 6 from the free-throw line to finish with 11 points. The win broke a six-game skid for the Hornets.
Zion Obanla led the Hawks (8-14, 4-1) in scoring, finishing with 15 points and eight rebounds. Joseph Locandro added 12 points for Maryland-Eastern Shore.
The Hornets were held to two points over a more than six-minute stretch in the second half, but they had built a 14-point lead when that 8-0 run began.
