MONTREAL – A person was injured in a stabbing on Saturday evening at a downtown Montreal metro station.

Montreal police were called to the Place-des-Arts station on the metro’s green line, on De Bleury Street, at around 10 p.m.

Officer Caroline Chèvrefils, Montreal police spokesperson, said the victim, a 30-year-old man, was wounded in the upper body with a knife and was taken to the hospital.

Police say his condition is not life-threatening.

The motive for the crime was unknown, and the suspect reportedly fled on foot before police arrived.

The investigation is ongoing and investigators plan to interview the victim.
