PRINCESS ANNE, Md. (AP) — Dorion Staples scored 15 points as Maryland-Eastern Shore beat South Carolina State 69-57 on Saturday.

Staples shot 5 for 11 (2 for 7 from 3-point range) and 3 of 3 from the free-throw line for the Hawks (9-20, 5-7 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference). Chris Flippin scored 14 points and added 11 rebounds. Michael Teal had 13 points and shot 3 of 3 from the field and 7 of 8 from the free-throw line. The victory snapped a seven-game losing streak for the Hawks.

Jayden Johnson finished with 14 points and four steals for the Bulldogs (7-21, 5-7). Noah Treadwell added 13 points for South Carolina State. Cameron Clark also had nine points and six rebounds.
