QUÉBEC – Kourtney Oss had 18 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Calgary Dinos to a 58-45 win over the McGill Martlets in quarterfinal play Thursday at the U Sports Women’s Final 8. 

The third-seeded Dinos outscored McGill 42-22 in the paint at the Amphithéâtre Desjardins.

Emilia Diaz-Ruiz had 15 points and 14 rebounds for the Martlets. McGill shot just 24.6 per cent from the floor.

BUTTS RECORDS DOUBLE-DOUBLE

Katie Butts delivered a dominant performance with 31 points and 15 rebounds to power the University of New Brunswick to an 80-63 quarterfinal victory over the Carleton Ravens.

Kyana-Jade Poulin had 23 points for the Ravens.

HUSKIES TOP T-BIRDS

Gage Grassick poured in a game-high 25 points as the Saskatchewan Huskies posted a 71-55 quarterfinal win over the UBC Thunderbirds.

Grassick added four rebounds and three steals for the Huskies, who led 19-11 after the opening period and carried a 34-26 advantage into halftime. 

Sara Toneguzzi had a team-high 21 points for UBC, including five three-pointers. 

KHELIFI IS CLUTCH

Sabrine Khelifi hit a three-pointer with 15 seconds left in regulation to lift the Laval Rouge et Or to a 57-54 quarterfinal win over Toronto Metropolitan University. 

Khelifi led Laval with 14 points. Catrina Garvey had 15 points for top-seeded TMU.
