PENTICTON – The RCMP say a 36-year-old man has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with a 2022 double homicide in Penticton, B.C.
Police say the BC Prosecution Service has approved two counts of first-degree murder against Yves “Oliver” Grenier in connection with the deaths of Douglas Barker and Alannah Brown.
RCMP say the investigation began in September 2022 after police were called to the Penticton area, where the remains of two victims were found.
Police say since that time, the major crime investigators have been looking for evidence, working on witness interviews, and conducting forensic analysis.
Police say four people were previously charged in 2025 in connection with these homicides, including Jilane King, Simon Bourbonnais, and Tyler Stuart, who were charged in July, while a fourth person was charged in November.
Superintendent Sanjaya Wijayakoon with BC RCMP says this was an “extensive and complex” investigation and they have now charged and made their final arrest for this investigation.
Grenier has been arrested and remains in custody.
