YELLOWKNIFE – Mounties in the Northwest Territories say theft and mischief charges have been laid after an empty tour bus was stolen from a gas station.

Yellowknife RCMP say the bus had been left idling when it was stolen early Saturday.

Police say it was found about an hour later in a local parking lot and was boxed in by a team of police cars.

They say nobody was injured, but the bus backed into a police vehicle before stopping.

The 39-year-old driver was taken to hospital for blood tests as police allege she was showing signs of drug impairment.

RCMP say the accused remains in police custody.
