GRAND FALLS-WINDSOR – RCMP in Newfoundland have charged a 52-year-old man with murder after responding to a report of a shooting early Friday morning. 

Police say they were called to a home on Crescent Heights in Grand Falls-Windsor just before 5 a.m.

They say they found a dead woman at the home, along with the suspect who they arrested without incident.

Police say the suspect and the victim were known to each other, but did not provide further details.

The 52-year-old man was charged with first-degree murder. 

Police say nearby residents can expect more officers in the area over the next few days as the investigation continues.
