RICHMOND – Police in Richmond, B.C., say they’re investigating a suspected kidnapping in a restaurant parking lot.

Police say they were called to the Bamboo Grove Restaurant on No. 3 Road just after 10 p.m. on Friday, after a witness reported seeing two men forcing another man into a pickup truck.

Investigators say they believe the vehicle is a grey 2013 Dodge Ram 1500, and not a Ford F-150 as originally thought.

They say in a statement that the truck has a sunroof, mud flaps and a triple ball hitch and it was reported stolen from Maple Ridge in September.

Mounties say they’ve also seized a Volkswagen Jetta involved in the alleged kidnapping after it was seen on the surveillance footage reviewed by investigators.

Police say officers from the serious crime unit are looking to speak with potential witnesses, after video footage showed several onlookers and vehicles in the parking lot at the time.
