Police on Vancouver Island say a 41-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries in an apparent stabbing Friday night, leading to the arrest of an 18-year-old woman.
A statement from North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP says officers were patrolling an area around a London Drugs store at about 11 p.m. when they found the seriously injured man.
Staff Sgt. Kris Clark says in the statement the man was taken to hospital, where he remained in critical but stable condition Saturday.
The Mounties say investigators determined a female suspect had left the area, but officers were able to find a woman matching the suspect’s description nearby.
The incident is believed to have been isolated, with no ongoing risk to the public.
Police are asking anyone who has video footage from the area or saw what happened to contact them.
