WELLAND – Niagara regional police say a man has been charged with first-degree murder after a woman was found dead in a home in Welland, Ont.

Police say officers responded to a home in the area of Prince Charles Drive and Thorold Road just before 2 p.m. on Thursday. 

They say officers found a woman dead inside the home.

Police say a man who was in the same home has been arrested and charged.

The suspect is a 36-year-old man from Welland, Ont.

Police say the man is scheduled to appear in court for a bail hearing today.
