Toronto police say a homicide investigation is underway after a man was shot dead in the city’s north end.
Toronto police say they responded to a call about a shooting in the area of Sheppard Avenue West and Magellan Drive on Friday at around 10:15 p.m.
They say life-saving measures were commenced after officers located a man with multiple gunshot wounds upon arrival.
Investigators say the victim was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition and was later pronounced dead.
They identified 27-year-old Hussein Elmi of Toronto as the city’s 11th homicide this year.
Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
