TORONTO – Police in York Region have charged two men and they are searching for a third suspect in a double homicide in Vaughan, Ont., last month.

Police say officers responded to a home in the area of Kaiser Drive and Forest Drive for reports that shots were fired on May 13.

They say two men were found outside the home and they died from multiple gunshot wounds.

York Regional Police say they are seeking public assistance to identify the suspects in an alleged kidnapping. A York Regional Police patch is shown in Aurora, Ont. on Dec. 19, 2022. THE CANADIAN PRESS/Arlyn McAdorey

Police say other officers then responded to a different area where a stolen SUV allegedly used by the suspects had been abandoned and set on fire.

Investigators now say a 27-year-old man from Toronto faces charges including two counts of first-degree murder and arson, while a 55-year-old man from Windsor, Ont., faces charges including being an accessory after the fact to murder and arson.

Police say a 48-year-old man from Windsor is also wanted on first-degree murder and arson charges.

They say a search warrant was executed at a home in Toronto and a loaded firearm was seized along with materials believed to be used in making explosives, including a detonator, a pipe and bolts.

Police also say they seized three firearms and an extended magazine after searching residences in Windsor, Ont., and Hamilton.
