TORONTO – Toronto police say a man has been arrested after he allegedly sexually assaulted an eight-year-old girl at a store in the city’s east end last month.
Police say they were called to the area of Finch Avenue East and McCowan Road the afternoon of May 12 after a report of a sexual assault.
They allege the 32-year-old suspect approached the girl inside a retail store, sexually assaulted her and followed her around the store.
Police further allege the suspect grabbed the girl, who then told her family members, and the suspect ran away after a relative confronted him.
Police say he’s been charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.
He was scheduled to appear in court Monday.
