A 33-year-old female pedestrian was killed Saturday in a hit-and-run in northeastern New Brunswick.
RCMP say the collision happened just before 4 a.m. in Esgenoôpetitj, which is about 180 kilometres northeast of Fredericton.
Police say the driver and vehicle involved were gone when officers arrived.
A news release says investigators believe the vehicle was heading southeast on Micmac Road when it veered onto the shoulder and struck the woman.
She died at the scene.
The road was closed for several hours and police are still investigating what happened.
