QUESNEL – Police in British Columbia’s central Interior say the body of a 17-year-old youth has been recovered three days after a vessel capsized at a local lake.

Mounties in Quesnel say the body of the teenage boy from Prince George was recovered from Stony Lake by divers on Tuesday.

The accident happened on Saturday, when police were called to the lake after a report of the capsize.

The boat was carrying four people at the time, and police say three made it to shore safely.

However, police say the teenager operator of the vessel did not surface and couldn’t be located.

No further details on the accident have been released.
