HALIFAX – Police in Halifax have identified the victim of a fatal shooting last week in the Dartmouth area.
Halifax Regional Police say 39-year-old Thomas Junior Downey of nearby North Preston was shot on Lahey Road on Friday night around 10:30 p.m.
Investigators say he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service conducted an autopsy and confirmed Downey was the victim of a homicide.
Investigators say the shooting was not a random act.
No arrests have been made and police are asking anyone with information about the crime to come forward.
