SASKATOON – Police say the body of a man, believed to have disappeared while riding a Jet Ski in the South Saskatchewan River, has been found near a ferry crossing outside Saskatoon.

The missing man was identified last month as 32-year-old Adan Vargas Salvador, who had been visiting from Mexico.

Police say the body was found Tuesday in the rural municipality of Cormac Park near the Clarkboro Ferry.

They say the identity of the body has not yet been confirmed through dental records, but the Mexican man’s family has been notified about the discovery.

He was reported missing June 20, after the Jet Ski he was riding went over a river weir in Saskatoon.

Residents have been advised to stay away from the river due to increased water levels and speed.
