HALIFAX – Police say they’ve arrested the man allegedly responsible for an assault and racist tirade at Halifax big box store.
Officers were dispatched Saturday to a Costco on Chain Lake Drive after receiving reports that a man was yelling at a family before he allegedly assaulted another shopper.
His alleged racial slurs and threats were captured on video and posted on social media.
Halifax Regional Police say they arrested the suspect, 37-year-old Randall Publicover, at a home in Port Dufferin, N.S., on Thursday.
He’s been charged with public incitement of hatred, assault and four courts of uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death.
He’s also been charged with two counts of mischief, resisting a peace officer and possession of a dangerous weapon.
