WEST KELOWNA – Mounties say a 72-year-old man has been killed during an off-road excursion in B.C.’s Okanagan region. 

Police say they were called Wednesday to a report of a serious accident involving an all-terrain vehicle that rolled down a steep embankment near the former Gladstone Mine near Peachland. 

The say the man was with another rider on a separate ATV on the trail but they became separated.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. 

Police say they had to call for help from the Central Okanagan Search and Rescue to access the site and recover the body. 

They say neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to be factors in the collision.
