DARTMOUTH – Halifax police are investigating after a man was found with a gunshot wound at a homeless encampment in Dartmouth.

The man who was shot was located on Green Park Road and transported to hospital with serious injuries.

Police say they received a report about the gunshot victim at around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Residents in the area should expect a heavy police presence at the site.

Police say the investigation is in the early stages, but they do not believe this was a random incident. 

The area where the man was found is one of two homeless encampment sites designated by the Halifax Regional Municipality.
