VANCOUVER – Police say officers are investigating an assault on an electric scooter rider in Vancouver who was hit in the face with a hammer.
Police say the attack occurred on Monday evening when the victim was riding in East Vancouver and a man approached the rider from behind on a silver bike.
The unidentified attacker struck the rider in the face with a hammer, leaving the victim with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as a white man in his late 40s, with a grey buzz cut and stubble.
Officers later received another report saying a suspect with the same description threatened someone else with a hammer, but no assault occurred.
Police say the suspect was last seen wearing a grey T-shirt, black pants, and black shoes.
Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone who has dash camera footage to contact them.
