LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Tyler Hughes threw for two touchdowns, Markell Holman rushed for 80 yards, and Wyoming beat Northern Colorado 21-13 on Saturday.

Wyoming (1-1) trailed 13-7 with under 13 minutes to play in the game and had just fumbled the ball away when the game was delayed due to lightning in the area.

Wyoming went 14 plays and 82 yards on its first drive after the delay and took a 14-13 lead on Hughes’ 15-yard TD connection with Charlie Coenen. Hughes added an 18-yard touchdown pass to tight end Kyle Frendt with 1:44 left.

Northern Colorado turned it over on downs with 53 seconds left and Wyoming ran out the clock.

Safety Jones Thomas had two interceptions to go with five tackles and Ethan Stuhlsatz paced Wyoming with 11 tackles.

Kenny Lueth was 13 of 23 for 202 yards passing with one touchdown and two interceptions for Northern Colorado (0-3). Justin Guin had 88 yards rushing on 17 carries. Marcus Mozer caught three passes for 72 yards and a score.
