Hamilton’s Arkells are bringing their Between Us City Takeover tour to Winnipeg Nov. 10-12, playing three shows at three different venues.
The unique tour sees the Juno-winning rock band, known for his including Leather Jacket and Knocking at the Door, playing extended stands in cities across Canada in intimate clubs and theatres instead of arenas.
In Winnipeg, Arkells play South Osborne venues Sidestage (Nov. 10) and the Park Theatre (Nov. 11), and the downtown Burton Cummings Theatre (Nov. 12).
Tickets (prices TBA) go on sale Friday at 10 a.m., with fan pre-sales on now. Fans can sign up for pre-sale access at arkellsmusic.com.

Coming to the Centennial Concert Hall on Feb. 9, the Simon & Garfunkel Story tells the tale of one of pop music’s most beloved duos, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel. The tribute show covers the group’s beginnings as Tom & Jerry, their success as one of the bestselling music acts of the 1960s, and their 1970 split, culminating with the famous 1981 Concert in Central Park reunion.
Featuring a setlist of nearly 30 songs, the production combines live performances with photos, video projection and original film footage. Audiences will hear classics including Mrs. Robinson, Cecilia, Bridge Over Troubled Water and Homeward Bound.

Another legendary duo is actually appearing in town on Feb. 28: Australian pop act Air Supply is celebrating 50 years of performing together with a tour that brings them to Canada Life Centre with Canada’s Glass Tiger.
Graham Russell and Russell Hitchcock will perform such love-heavy hits as Lost in Love, All Out of Love and The One That You Love, along with tracks from their first studio album in 15 years, A Matter of Time.
Tickets go on sale Friday at Ticketmaster. No prices were announced.

Club Regent Casino has a host of shows in the works for the Regent Avenue venue, including a New Year’s Eve concert featuring Streetheart. The Canadian rockers will ring in 2027 with hits including Action, Under My Thumb and Here Comes the Night. Tickets start at $44 for the 8 p.m. show.
The new year kicks off on Jan. 2 with Canadian classic rock supergroup Toque. The cover band features Todd Kearns, Brent Fitz, Shane Gaalaas and Cory Churko, who have played with such acts as Shania Twain, Slash, Age of Electric and Kelly Clarkson. Tickets start at $35.
On Jan. 15, JD Fortune Rocks INXS comes to the casino, featuring the former frontman for the Australian rock band performing the group’s classic anthems. The Ontario singer replaced the late Michael Hutchence after winning the CBS series Rock Star: INXS in 2005, and fronted the group for a decade. Tickets start at $55.
