BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — Adam Jones rushed for 112 yards and two fourth-quarter touchdowns as Montana State overcame a 14-point deficit to beat Central Connecticut 35-30 on Saturday in the first meeting between the programs.

The defending FCS champion Bobcats (4-0), ranked No. 1 in the Stats Perform poll, extended their program-best winning streak to 18 games.

Central Connecticut (0-3) handed Montana State its first deficit of the season on Brett Griffis’ 2-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. The Blue Devils led 21-7 early in the third after Elijah Daniels caught a 42-yard touchdown pass and Navon Mitchell returned Jones’ fumble 42 yards for a score.

Justin Lamson answered with touchdown passes of 9 yards to Rocky Lencioni and 31 yards to Dane Steel to tie the game at 21 entering the fourth.

Jones gave Montana State its first lead on a 32-yard touchdown run with 12:38 remaining and added a 13-yard score with 4:10 left to make it 35-24.

Jones also caught six passes for 92 yards. Lamson completed 23 of 28 passes for 239 yards and two touchdowns.

Griffis threw for 228 yards and two touchdowns, including a 15-yard score to Damani Williams with 54 seconds remaining.
