HALIFAX – Halifax RCMP have charged a 21-year-old man with making racist threats toward a youth.
Police say they responded to a report that a man had threatened and followed someone under the age of 18 on the evening of Sept. 16 in Middle Sackville.
Mounties say the youth was a passenger in a parked car when the 21-year-old man approached and attempted to remove the youth from a car.
Police say that when the youth left in the vehicle, the man followed the car, driving dangerously.
Investigators say the man continued to threaten the youth during a cellphone call.
Officers determined the man’s actions were motivated by racism.
The accused is facing three counts of uttering threats, dangerous driving and criminal harassment.
