VANCOUVER – A 29-year-old man has been charged in an alleged street robbery in Vancouver that resulted in a teen being slashed across the face.
Vancouver police say the attack happened in the downtown core on Granville Street in the early morning hours of Aug. 8, when the 19-year-old victim was out with friends.
Investigators say he was approached by two men who removed his necklace, then he was cut from his nose to his eyebrow, leaving a 12-centimetre slash.
Police say they arrested a suspect in the Downtown Eastside last Friday and used a warrant to search his home.
The suspect is being held in custody and has been charged with robbery and aggravated assault.
The second suspect remains on the loose and police are asking the public for information that may identify that person.
