ATLANTA (AP) — Cameran Brown threw a school-record six touchdown passes and Georgia State flew past Old Dominion 42-10 on Saturday.
The Panthers (4-1) won their Sun Belt opener in convincing fashion, outgaining the Monarchs 470-142 in total yards and at one point scoring six touchdowns on eight possessions — all on throws by Brown. The streak was interrupted only by a punt and the end of the second quarter.
Brown’s six touchdowns came on only 14 completions. He was 14-for-20 for 284 yards with all six touchdowns coming in the first three quarters before he gave way to Ayden Pereira.
Five players caught TD passes for the Panthers, with Rodshaun Dorsey grabbing two. Qwantavius Wiggins’ 87 yards led Georgia State’s 187 yards on the ground. Linebacker Xavier Esqillion had three of Georgia State’s seven sacks.
Three Old Dominion quarterbacks combined for 79 yards on 13 of 28 passing and the Monarchs (1-4, 0-2) had 63 yards rushing.
