TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Alabama star receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams returned to Saturday night’s game against No. 2 Georgia after leaving with an apparent left leg injury.
Coleman-Williams spent time on an exercise bike after halftime and then was back on the field for the sixth-ranked Crimson Tide’s first snap in the third quarter.
Quarterback Keelon Russell targeted Coleman-Williams in the end zone from Georgia’s 16-yard line late in the second quarter. The pass was broken up, and when Coleman-Williams tried to stand up, he could not put any weight on his leg. Alabama’s training staff helped him off the field.
Coleman-Williams has 409 yards receiving and four touchdowns this season, including two receptions for 33 yards against the Bulldogs in the first half.
Coleman-Williams wore a brace on his right leg beginning with last week’s win against Mississippi State. He told reporters it was for “precautionary reasons.”
Alabama scored on the final play of the first half to take a 14-10 lead into the locker room. It was the first time Georgia has trailed all season.
