WINNIPEG – Police have located a 46-year-old man they were seeking in connection with the case of a woman who has been missing since June.
Mildred Flett, 51, also known as Mildred Nelson, last made contact with family and friends at the beginning of June, and police say that is out of character for her. The Winnipeg Police Service first put out a missing person alert in early July, but the trail remains cold.
Yesterday police said they were looking for Anthony Joseph Martin, Flett’s former boyfriend, who they believed might have more information about her disappearance.
A police spokesman said Wednesday they’d arrested Martin on an unrelated warrant. He will be questioned by the missing persons unit officers about Flett’s disappearance.
Police said there is “no indication” of foul play in Flett’s disappearance.
Flett is about 5-foot-10, 140 pounds with wavy dark hair and brown eyes. Police believe Flett may have cut her hair short.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call police at 986-6250.
