LIBERAL Leader Michael Ignatieff will make a campaign stop in Winnipeg Wednesday, likely the first leader to touch down in the city.

Local Liberals are putting the finishing touches on the visit, but a source says Ignatieff will host a town hall in the St. Boniface riding at the Franco-Manitoban Cultural Centre, stay overnight and campaign Thursday morning in Winnipeg North with rookie Liberal MP Kevin Lamoureux. He may also visit one more riding in what’s expected to be one of several visits to Winnipeg throughout the campaign.

The Liberals are hoping to hang on to Winnipeg North and perhaps steal St. Boniface from Tory MP Shelly Glover. They are also heavily targeting Winnipeg South, where Grit candidate Terry Duguid is hoping to defeat Tory MP Rod Bruinooge.
