Think pink

In an effort to raise awareness about women’s cancers, the CFL is going pink next month.

For the Oct. 21-22 games players will be wearing pink gloves and wristbands, while officials will be using pink whistles. Sideline gear for both teams will also show flashes of pink.

‘Pink’ merchandise will be available for purchase that weekend, with some proceeds going to cancer charities.

Bombers head coach Paul LaPolice called Winnipeg Jets head coach Claude Noel prior to the home exhibition game Tuesday, offering his well wishes for a good season.

LaPolice said Noel extended an offer to come to a game, though didn’t really know where he’d sit the Bombers coach.

“That’s what he said — ‘I don’t know where I’d put you, maybe in the rafters some where. Or on the bench.’ “
