The Winnipeg Jets have signed 18-year-old Swedish forward Axel Blomqvist to an entry-level contract, the team said Tuesday.
The undrafted forward attended the team’s prospect camp during the summer and played for the Jets in the five-team rookie tournament in Penticton, B.C., in early September.
After main training camp, he was returned to the WHL’s Lethbridge Hurricanes.

The six-foot-six right-winger had 33 points in 59 games last season in the WHL. He has one goal in the Hurricanes’ first three games this season.
