үӯ STREAKING:
L.A.’s Mike Richards had one goal during a 36-game stretch between Nov. 27th and Feb. 27th, but his second-period marker against the Jets was his second in his past three games.
STILL STINGY:
Winnipeg’s penalty-killing has been a major asset of late, and was again Thursday until L.A.’s Alec Martinez delivered the back-breaking advantage goal with 4:09 left.
The Jets have given up only two power-play goals in eight games (34 chances).
SIN BIN:
The Jets lost the special-teams battle on Thursday. After failing on the only power play they were awarded, the four penalties they took, three in the offensive zone, didn’t sit well with the coach.
“We’ve got to stay out of the box but I’ve got absolutely no problem with Andrew Ladd’s penalty,” the coach said, granting his captain an exemption for the borderline boarding call on Kings defenceman Jake Muzzin.
