Hey there, time traveller!

3 STARS
1. Dustin Byfuglien, Jets: The big man drew a penalty and then buried a slapper from the point.

2. Ondrej Pavelec, Jets: All eyes are on the Jets No. 1 goalie and he performed, stopping all 15 shots he faced in 30 minutes of work.
3. Carl Klingberg, Jets: Making a bid to earn a job on the fourth line, Klingberg was the best of the bottom six, skating and crashing and generally creating havoc.
“Ø”Ø BOGO’S BACK
Jets blue-liner Zach Bogosian ended last season with an injury but he was back in the lineup Monday playing on a pairing with Toby Enstrom. Bogosian was active, jumping into the play and being physical when opportunities presented themselves.
үӯ BIG BEN
Don’t count blue-liner Ben Chiarot out of the picture just yet. Chiarot is in elite condition and plays a simple game. He was St. John’s best and most reliable defenceman last season. He’ll likely need an injury or two to get his chance but once he does, Chiarot might be tough to knock out of the lineup.
үӯ NO LID, NO FIGHT
Jets tough guy Anthony Peluso and Wild winger Curt Gogol squared off in the first period, but were interrupted by the linesmen after both removed their helmets. NHL vice-president of hockey operations Colin Campbell told the Free Press in a call just after the incident: “We’ve given the linesmen a directive to stop fights when the players remove their helmets, if they can do so safely. That’s when players get hurt.”
үӯ UP NEXT
The Jets play host to the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday, 7 p.m. (TSN 3/TSN 1290) in Game 2 of their seven-game pre-season schedule
