Emergency crews responded to a report of a suspicious package on St. Anne’s Road Wednesday afternoon.

The call came in shortly after 2 p.m. at a location on St. Anne’s Road, just before Bank Avenue, police said.

St. Anne’s Road is now re-opened after being closed for several hours. Police and fire crews were on the scene and police surrounded the strip mall at 145 St. Anne’s Rd. which has four businesses. The McDonald’s and Dairy Queen across the street were also evacuated. The strip mall is called St. Anne’s Place.

The Winnipeg police bomb robot searched the area by the strip mall earlier today, then fired a water cannon at a suspicious package.
