Brown not alone

It turns out Blue Bombers tackle Doug Brown isn’t the only player ever to be nominated by his team for three CFL awards in one season. Linebacker Kevin Eiben (Toronto, 2004) and current Bomber LB Barrin Simpson (B.C., 2001) have similarly been honoured.

Bombers punt Dorsch

The club is going to ride the inconsistent leg of rookie Alexis Serna for the remainder of the 2008 season, it appears. Towering 6-foot-6 American Travis Dorsch, who was brought in a couple of weeks ago, was inconsistent in practice himself and was sent home after Serna went 3-for-4 last week.

Edwards, Smith likely out

Receiver Terrence Edwards and running back Joe Smith will likely join OG Ryan Donnelly, No. 2 QB Ryan Dinwiddie and DB Willie Amos as players head coach Doug Berry will sit out Saturday vs. the Hamilton Tiger-Cats to close out the season.
