Hey there, time traveller!

Multiple media outlets in Boston are reporting the Boston Bruins are preparing an offer sheet for Winnipeg Jets defenceman Jacob Trouba, who is set to become a restricted free agent on Friday.
Veteran Bruins beat reporter Joe Haggerty, citing a source, has a story up on CSN New England’s website stating that the Bruins are preparing an offer for Trouba that would be worth at least $47 million and possibly more. The term of the deal the Bruins are offering was unspecified but Haggerty speculated it would be for seven years.
The Jets would have the right to match Boston’s offer and retain Trouba. If they didn’t and Trouba signed with Boston, Winnipeg would be due four first-round draft picks from the Bruins in compensation.
The Jets could also trade Trouba — to Boston or someone else. Or they could simply re-sign him themselves.
The Winnipeg Free Press reported last winter that Trouba was seeking a long-term deal worth $7 million a season, a number Jets management has thus far balked at paying.
The Jets also have multiple other players due to become restricted free agents later this week, most notably centre Mark Scheifele, who will also command a big price to re-sign.
